It's About Time We Had A Meeting Meeting
It's probably about time we had a meeting about, like, stuff and that. I'll put down my agenda points, and feel free to add yours in the comments section.
Brief Rushbearing debrief and going forward actions
House a Rushcart
Clog Amnesty and Policy on Clog Loans
The Coming Season
Littleborough Lantern Parade
The festival will let us know exactly what they want when they know (there are a few changes this year).
But, for now, assume it will be similar to last year.
Time to start thinking about illuminating yourself/your instrument to help make the parade look spectacular.
2018 SDU LONGSWORD Gathering & Tournament
Oakenyoof are doing a bit of longsword, come along and enjoy the day.
Edwardian xmas eveny
Another shopping event: this time it's Edwardian! I'd better get Vic's bloomers finished in time for this!
Small Business Saturday / Xmas lights in Littleborough
Small Business Saturday afternoon events in Littleborough prior to the lights switch on.
An early dart to Marsden for Magpie members :)
Halloween event in Rochdale

The Prevailing Wind Is Blowing Towards Clog Dancing Practice Tonight
Well the last of our Summer dance outs has been and gone. It's time to have a think about what we would like to learn over the coming months.
Rochdale Scottish Society Social by Oakenhoof and That's all Folk
Oakenhoof and That's All Folk will be running a social for the Scottish Society, which will be mostly music and dance based (but they might want another with games in the future).
It will comprise:
- Some "called" dances - music by That's All Folk and Oakenhoof (set list below)
- A small number of exhibition dances (clog or sword) we can decide this depending on who's coming
- Supper, raffle, etc
- Some scottish dances (which they'll do to their own music)
So we need:
- Musicians (we'll form one big band with no amplification) - it's a dulcimer friendly environment.
Please note we'll be playing everything at a fairly fast tempo
We need to keep to the tune set because That's All Folk have been working on them - but we can be flexible with calling depending on who's available.
Tunes (and potential dances)
Pant Coran YWynn
Wha Wouldne Fecht for Charlie
Kesh set (but separate)
Canale En Octobre
Michael Turner's Waltz
Probably also the Highland Widow's Lament and Loch Katrine's Lady for the exhibition bit.
